Is there any organizations that help people in need? this is an odd one. I have a friend in Oklahoma her Son graduated 2 years ago as the Valadictorian of the class (not sure how to spell that one) he is not going to school because he and his family need him to work, he is working to pay for his truck and his braces When I talked to his Mom yesterday I said Cory REALLY needs to go to college, but she is like Weeeeelllllll he has a good job working in the meat department and they just gave him a $1.00 an hour raise, and he is helping pay for his oral surgery and braces and making his truck payment. they live in a very rural area, he needs a vehicle and the nearest college is over an hour drive over the mountains. Is there anywhere to go for help for a kid that will totally always work in the meat department if he does not get help>>>> this happens All the time to RURAL KIDS work is more important than school and this is for the top honors kids of the class,

First off, I think he has to want something different. You can't make that decision for him. If he wants help, there are different things out there for him. If he is wanting to go to college, he needs to fill out the FASFA (financial aid application). If his family is low income, he should qualify for enough money for his room, board, tuition, and books. If he would prefer to go to an online school, FASFA will help pay for that as well. There is always the military too, that would give him a change to get away. There are also great technical schools in Oklahoma like Tulsa Welding School and Spartan School of Aeronautics.

He needs to talk to the financial aid department at the college he wants to attend. If his family income is low he can qualify for grants and/or loans to cover the cost of his college.

Try an online school that is accredited. You can take classes that fit with your schedule and all you need is a computer and Internet access! Phoenix Online is a good one.
