product means multiply.
The Left Behind series is stories set in post apocalyptic time, after all the believers have been removed from the earth, as described in the book of Revelations. And in the Book of Revelations, the "number of the beast" is 666.
The context around this says someting like, let someone who has intelligence calculate the number of the beast, it is the number of (a) man, the number is six hundred sixty six.
Ever since then people have debated the significance of this number. Since Hebrew and several other ancient languages assign numbers to letters, it is generally thought that 666 is the number that corresponds to the letters of some famous bad person's name, either contemporary with the writer (John) or to come later.
This number has come to be associated in folklore with the devil. However, the scripture reference does not say it is a number of the devil, it says this is a number of a beast, and of a man.

7. The significance of 216

Observe that the A-series, and A4 in particular, is defined in the document headed ISO 216. Now 216 is the cube of 6 which, (a) written as 6.6.6, has the same visual impact as 666, and (b) happens to be the outline of the Genesis 1:1 triangle. In the context of our discussion, therefore, this sequence number could not be more appropriate!

Really goofy stuff if you ask me. Well, been nice knowing you.
