Not at all. The only way this place is boring is if your own personal lifestyle is boring you.
Whatever you want, you can find inside most places in taiwan, with the odd exception of foreign food resources in the smaller towns. Even that can be purchased and self made often.

No way Jose!!! Taiwan is such an exciting beautiful country with friendly people - it's no wonder the commies want them.
I spent 6 years there, and If I had the chance I'd retire there forever.

Not at all. In fact, Taiwan is unfairly underrated (and treated). I visited there in 2004 and have been missing it ever since. A previous answerer summed it up very nicely. Interesting sites, varied topography, and generally nice people. I'm very eager to go back. All my best to the sovereign Taiwan Republic.

Not in the least. I lived in Taiwan 4 years and your excitement there is a reflection of yourself in ways much more that you would find in other countries. very few places in asia have so much to offer within such a small geography. from surfing to snowcapped mountains in 4 hours? beaches, bars, temples, hikes, wild animals, indigenous people, ancient culture to cutting edge design and thought. sports, leisure, beautiful and liberal women, engaging people, and a genuine desire to share and learn from others. Man, you even have political strife, protests on the street and the only nation in the world bold enough to thumb its nose at China.Taiwan deserves more praise than it gets.

Taiwan is very interesting. Especially Taipei. Along the street you can see those stalls with "Pinglang mei"(betelnuts girls)selling the betel nuts,wearing skimpish or outrageous dress . Some dress in swimsuit or bikini. Some even wearing just undergarment trying to coax those truck driver to buy the betelnuts or other things. To them it is competitive. To us it is enjoyment.

Taiwan is as boring or as exciting a country/island as you're willing to make it.
You can find just as much action or trouble as you like, or just as much culture, arts and high-browed snobbery as your heart desires.
It is incumbent upon you, though, to expend the energy and time necessary to find these pursuits, and based on your question I would guess this is your problem...
