hmm...a difficult question indeed. well for me a guy is only attractive if he seems to be a nice person. sometimes you can tell if a person is a jerk..most of the time a mean person would have like this hes so beautiful hes ugly look (remember the Prince in Shrek 2? uglyyy. i could tell within the first second that he was full of himself) or kindof a devilish look in his face. when i was younger i had little crushes on a few guys..who i had no idea who they were or what they were about. as i got older i have a deeper appreciation for natural beauty. the guy im really into now has that sweet, friendly look..basically an angel on earth. when i found out more about him, i realize his appearance was true to who he is.
we're sorta like animals..we have this instinct about another that they have a stunning personality, the instinct is triggered by the appearance of them...seeing them as a possible contender for someone who is everything we could look for in a mate we tend to want to find out more.
obviously i cant read the minds of everybody but this is what its like in general.
sorry i dunno if i explained this very clearly but basically what i mean is what a person is like on the inside almost always shows through to the outside..sometimes its a subtle display but it will most likely be there.

Well, the appearance of another person is the first thing that we do encounter. If the other person really turns you on...be careful! You might not be thinking clearly. Some of my best and most loyal friends are the least attractive of the people I know.

It falls under the first impression thing.
What you look like is the first thing someone is going to notice about you.
It shoudn't effect how you look at other people though, unless you're some one one who would be considered a snob.

On subconscious level we want to mate with and associate with persons we view as attractive.
