Hair spray usually will do the job but I am not so sure for such a big blotch. Perhaps asking the advice of a reputable laundry service might be a help.

Since its a big stain it will take some patience... Put a pad of cotton --like cotton balls--on one side of the stain. Soak another cotton ball in clear rubbing alcohol; Starting in the center of the stain begin dabbing the ink. The alcohol disolves the oil base of the ink and the colorant will soak into the cotton pad below. If you don;t have real cotton balls you can use a couple of old towels. Each time you dab, move the pad underneath to a clean spot and dab again. Keep changin the top cottonball as soon as it gets stained with the ink or you'll be pushing ink right back into the fabric.
It will work but you have to spend some time doing it.

My mother always used to treat ink stains with hairspray before washing the item. Spray hairspray on the stain and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then run it through the wash. If it doesn't come out completely, repeat. Don't dry the pants until the stain is gone. If you have already washed and dried the pants, you may be out of luck.

It's not a problem and the solution will cost you just pennies.... soak them in plain old rubbing alcohol. Really. Keep soaking them and rubbing the ink spot with rubbing alcohol until the stain comes out. Then wash them and they'll be fine. Rubbing alcohol will take ink out of anything.

if it was a ballpoint pen, rub glycerin into the area. Let stand fifteen to twenty mintues and wash with dishwashing detergent. Or spray with inexpensive hairspray and flush with water.
If it is felt tip pen ink, flush with denatured alcohol using an eyedropper. Wash with dishwashing detergent.

Before you wash it and set it in, try soaking it in straight rubbing alcohol.
I used to have a job using indelible ink and the only thing that took it out was straight isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
Good luck!
