In the AL, I think Boston and Minnesota will be the two best teams. I think Toronto could be a darkhorse. In the NL, I think St. Louis, Houston and the Muts will be up at the top. Probably another Boston-St. Louis World series.

You know the Yankees aren't going to disappoint. You can never count them out of a pennant race. The Red Sox are reloading this offseason too. They look pretty strong. Don't forget about some teams outside of the East, though. The Angels don't look too shabby. The White Sox and Twins can also compete with the best teams, too.

My AL prediction: Yankees

In the National League, you have the Mets who almost got to the Series last season. The Giants are just about finished rebuilding, and I think they can get pretty far in the playoffs. You can't forget the Cardinals, the reigning World Champions or the Braves who are looking to reclaim the NL East title.

My NL prediction: Mets

A subway series rematch! How about that? This coming from an impartial onlooker.

I like an All Chicago Series. The White Sox improved the pen and the Cubs on paper are the best team in the NL which is weak and can be won as evident with the Cards.

Braves vs Tigers
The Braves have a revamped pitching. I just get the feeling with Hampton coming back that Smoltz, Hampton and Hudson could have a year rivaling Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz. They also have the strongest pen in the MLB with Wickman, Soriano, and Gonzalez. Pitching wins the world series, the Braves will comeback.
The Tigers also will win because of their solid pitching. Offense can only carry a team so far, but pitching, pitching wins championships. If you have good defense and pitching, you can't lose, because you won't give up runs.

I would say the Cubs in the NL, but they will NEVER win a World Series ever again. I don't know why I said "ever again", it's been a hundred years, but I mean it will be the year 5000, and they still wouldn't have won a World Series. I would like to see a Sox-Cubs World Series, but that won't happen. Well, 50% of that will happen.

I think it will be the Chicago White Sox vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. You heard it here first!

People who expect great things from the cubs are going to be very disappointed. What is going to make them so great? Soriano? Please give me a break. Even if things go well and they gel within one season, the sheer pressure of going to the playoffs would scare half their team into having an injury, and then they would right back where they were this season. The A.L. will send either the Yanks or the Tigers, again, and the N.L. will be a race between the Braves and the Amazins. Bank on it my friends, bank on it. Or jump on the bandwagon destined for disappointment.
