I mean seriously, I thought we had the best military in the world. The other night on the news they showed a terrorist firing a rocket, and he wasnt even wearing shoes!!

We are really getting our butts kicked out there. Are the troops really trying their best?

Because we are fighting without any moral cause.

After my recent trip to Iraq, I am even more convinced that the situation there is precarious, but hopeful. I see hope in the Iraqi people. I believe this hope will be the foundation of a new Iraqi society. Much remains to be done, and I think we need a plan to turn this country over to its citizens. I will continue to work with the leaders in our country, as well as leaders in Iraq, to find a solution that protects the future of Iraq, and the pride and dignity of its citizens.

US troops are not being beaten, and will not be beaten, militarily. Try to get some facts for once.
There are not enough troops to control the population, that was never the mission. It is Iraq's responsiblity to control the population, they are the ones getting beaten by the "insurgents".
Incidentally, shoes, nor a great deal of education are required to fire an RPG effectively.

First of all, our military has not lost any battles in Iraq. They have had their hands tied behind their backs though. We'll see if the new strategy does something in not too long of a time.

Our military was designed to fight wars, not to stand guard along oil pipelines and be sitting ducks. Bush is using our military as security police for his over 1,000 private no bid contractors in Iraq. Nobody likes the police too much, especially when they go around blowing up neighborhoods and carry M-16s. When our troops are asked to what they are trained for, they do it very well. When they are asked to stand around and protect Bush's plundering businessmen friends, they get blown up while standing there. Occupying armies hardly ever fare well, and using ours to do this is criminal.

Don't blame our troops. Blame the Commander in Chief who put them in this mess. The hands of the soldiers are tied.

Political correctness. We are trying to fight a "polite" war against barbarians who think nothing of slaughtering their own women and children. They hide in mosques (when they aren't blowing them up) and howl with outrage if we even *look* too closely at a mosque. Most of our soldiers would never shoot a child, so the drooling fanatics use them as human shields.

What the hell do we do now? We can't just bail out - that will embolden those morons even further. Yet we can't sink to their level, either - so...now what?

... Because our know it all president and his pals thought they knew how to fight a war.. " Do it our way" they said.. " let us lead" they said. and now they are saying " give us 30,000 more troops, because we screwed up".. I say no way.. get our people out and let them live. Send Bush and the guys over there to negotiate the peace... see how they do.
... Why a bunch who never ever even saw any combat were going to lead others is beyond me.

we're the best when we are fighting on our terms.

they have citizens who blow themselves up or set up bombs to kill soliders. soldiers can't fight fairly in gurrilla warfare- especailly with no home advantage
