Starfish live strictly in a saltwater environment. Tropical fish live in a freshwater environment. The two cannot live together. As far as the molly, yes, something could very well be wrong with it, but it is difficult to say what might be wrong without more information regarding any physical problems it may have, such as white spots, white, cottony patches, red streaks, skin lesions, etc. As a precaution, you could start a .3% salt solution, which is a scant 1 tsp of salt per 1 gallon of water. Do not use table salt. Get aquarium salt from the pet store and do not overdo the salt as that can kill your fish too.

Starfish are marine, so you'd need to keep it with saltwater fish.

Your bubble (balloon?) molly may just be getting used to the tank if it's new. They aren't very good swimmers they way they're built. They also do best if you have some aquarium salt in the water (1 Tbsp/5 gallons up to 1 tsp. gallon). This level is okay for any tropical fish. If you don't have aquarium salt, you can use kosher or canning salt but NOT table salt if it is iodized.

Starfish will not fit in with tropical fish. They are saltwater creatures that eat things like live clams. I don't know of anybody who would sell live starfish.

no starfish are saltwater, they need to be kept in an ocean- like environment, and bubble mollies are arent very good swimmers, but he might have some kinda infection.
