I am trying to install Sims 2 for my daughter and can't get past part 1! States disk will install 324 MB of data and to ensure there is enough space and press OK when done. Well, when I highlight over the C drive, it states i have 2.96 GB of free space which should be enough, right? I did a disk cleanup and defragment to condense files but I still cannot get the game to load. Suggestions?

I had the game installed and it was working but I was down to 1% free space with the 512 MB RAM. I took the game off and purchased the 1 GB. Now it won't install at all.

2 sticks - but it was a matched set (both were in the same package) and it is not stating which memory is out. Just states will install 324 mb and to ensure there is enough space. I am showing 2.96 GB free.

Sgt Phin - it is the correct one for my PC. I went to Sony's website and they told me which to get PC2700 333. I am sure the RAM is correct for my pc. According to my c: drive, there is 2.9 GB free space. thanks

You did not specified what type of memory you have. Is it PC100/133 SDRAM. DDR 512 mb or DDR2? Which memory does your mobo supports? Most motherboards have two banks (slots). Each bank supports 32,64,128, 256, 512mb. So you may have as much as 1Gb (512mb x 2). You can't mix memory. If your computer has DDR, then you must buy DDR sticks. PC 2100, 2700, 3200 etc. PC 2100 runs at 200/266 mhz, PC 3200 runs at 333mhz. PC2100 comes in the 128, 256 and 512 mb flavors. Make sure to get the one that it is supported by your motherboard.

READ the question computertech82. It WAS running before she installed the new memory.
Look up the memory manufacturers site for support on installing it, if your using 1 stick of memory. If you're using 2 sticks (2 x 512Mb) make sure they're in the right slots. AND REMEMBER TO GROUND YOUSELF before handling memory (touch the PSU or a radiator to remove your body static) Also, you could always delete some old files you don't use anymore.

If something, i ought to pick some trades. a million) A swifter quad middle 3.2 Phenom 955 perchance - maximum video games are not designed to make use of that many cores, a lot less cores at a swifter clock may be functional. 2) A SATA III 6Gb hardchronic. a hardchronic is truly a type of issues that ought to bathroom down a equipment. swifter is larger. in the different case, it truly is a good sounding rig. The ATI 5670 is a good card. good performance to value ration. merely make constructive it is operating the swifter GDDR5 RAM.

What memory is it stating is out? video, or hard drive. get a list of your errors, and edit your entry. Good luck.
Edit:
Hey, I just thought of something. The ram you bought... can your RAM sticks work together? Ram has different speeds, and different ways of paging. Some work in tandum, like figure skaters. (lol, so to speak) Check that out, and get back to us.

Does the message say something about VIDEO memory? what video card to you have? If it's an on-board video card, it's more then likely not able to play the game. Would need a better video card.
and note: i'm NOT saying system memory, VIDEO memory.

It is probably because you do not have enough RAM, if you have an empty slot for RAM on your motherboard, buy some more RAM.
