I can notice the difference. There's a pretty good difference between 320kbps and 128kbps MP3's. The difference is even further exagerrated by the better equipment you have. If you have a really good set of headphones or home theatre system, you'll really notice the difference. If you are using your PC speakers you might not notice much of a difference at all. If you're into good sound quality, try listening to files in the Ogg Vorbis format instead (*.ogg). They compress better than MP3's and sound better than MP3's do at the same bitrate. Of course, the best are lossless compressed files like FLAC. Big download, not as big as a strict WAV rip but the exact same quality as a CD.
