I think it means that you have to remember that, no matter how crappy your day is, tomorrow is a new day. So, you just have to put up with twenty-four hours, remembering that tomorrow will be, uhm, new.

I think that 'and get it over with' is a cynical addition to the perhaps overly sweet advice to 'start everyday with a smile'. I have the sense that that sentiment irritates the author of the quote. He/She is suggesting you get your daily smile out of the way as soon as possible so you can go on being your normal self; happy, grumpy, whatever.

sorta like.. go punch that b*tch in the face and get it over and done with.

if your having a really crappy week or you just hate being happy.. just smile when you wake up, get it over and done with so you dont have to do it again =P

be happy everyday, stay on the postive side.. and your day should get over faster, because you wont be mopeing.
