More often than you think. Jet planes are my cowardly way of ending stale relationships. I just move to another country. It's quite effective; much less drama.

At first I thought your question was a little goofy, but you know what? It absolutely makes sense. Yes, I left on a jet plane so many years ago and I didn't know if, and when, I would be back again. It turned out to be seven years later and just for a visit, never a permanent return.

Yeah, when my husband and I were getting ready to board the plane in SeaTac to come over to Germany. Been here two years now, and haven't seen my family at all the whole time, except in pictures. We don't know when we're going back. Could be as soon as this December, or as late as sometime next year.

Yup and here I am.. 20 years, 12 years, 5 years or 3 years later depending on how you wanna count it up... (never did make it back yet LOL)
Oh and before you ask the next OBVIOUS question.. Yes iIused to "know the way to San Jose" when I lived in Monterey.. but now I'd have to look on mapquest its south of here from somewhere...

Yeah i have. When i was deployed to Iraq in 2003 and 2005. Probably will be doing it again very soon from the looks of things.

Yes, when I moved from San Diego to Virginia. I was so sad not knowing when I'd be back to visit and see my friends again.
