I believe that people are born with a sexual identity, straight or gay. What's with "bi"--who was born that way?

Everyone is born with some type of orientation....how you act on that is up to you. People are just people....the kind of sex they have is a choice.

Going along with what you are saying, how people can be born either straight or gay, bi is the same way; born with having feelings towards both of the sexes. I cannot explain it, nor can I explain about gay people (I hope I just didn't offend anyone).

Okay, I did 'heavy research' on this when I was in college, and several others have also done the same research, with the same 'answers' I got.
Basically of 'all the humans alive' only 10% of us are 'totally straight' (we have ONLY 'heterosexual thoughts, dreams, actions) while another 10% of us are 'totally gay' (have ONLY 'homosexual' thoughts, dreams, and actions.) That leaves 80% of us who fall 'somewhere between those two things. At 'true bisexual' would be someone who has approximately 50% heterosexual thoughts, dreams, and actions and approximately 50% homosexual thoughts, dreams, and actions. So, if you take the 'total bisexual' as being 'the middle ten percent of people, then you still have most of the people in this world who are 'some' of one more and 'less' of the other ... or, if you wish to 'exclude' the 10% at either end that are 'only' homosexual or heterosexual, then the other 80% of us are truly 'bi-sexual' with approximately 35% being 'more homo' and 35% being 'more hetero' ... and I'm sorry, but if you are 'basically hetero' you can still have 'fantasies' of yourself with a person of the same sex and be considered 'normal' ... with 'normal' being 'of the greatest percentage' ... and I believe that whether we are willing to 'admit it openly or not' that most of us have at least 'thought about having sex with someone of the same gender as we are.' Therefore, being 'bi' is really being 'normal.'

It's not about how you were born. It's about how you live and what you like. Why do people think everything is decided at birth? Hell some of the greatest musicians ever were pan sexual, and everyone dabbles in it at one time or another in some way shape or form. David Bowie, Jim Morrison, Lou Reed, Andy Warhol, even Kiss had orgies with men and women. Bi sexuals are basically people who don't care whether it's a man or a woman, as long as they like the person. It's not about being labeled when you're born as this or that, it's about freedom now.

Well maybe you belief is wrong, maybe people are born BI. It just comes down to who you're attracted to. Men and women who are attracted to, and have relationships exclusively with the same sex are gay. Some people are attracted to both and choose to have relationships with both. It hasn't been proven that gay people are born that way. Eventhough it is generally believed that they are. Perhaps it's the same for bisexual people.

Not being "bi," I can't speak from experience, but I believe that some people may be born "bi," or it could be that some people are having trouble figuring out their sexual identity. Regardless, all people are children of God, created in God's own image.

Why would it be so hard for you to believe that people can be born liking both male and female? It is just the way it is. No different then being straight or gay.

I don't even understand your confusion...why can't a person be born with an open preference, or a lack of a clear preference for either gender? If you can be born gay, why can't they be born "bi"?

It's like saying "I know people can be tall, and I know people can be short, but who is born and becomes average height?"

I think all people are born straight. There are times when a hormonal imbalance can cause the person to have feelings of the other sex such as a man feeling that he is a woman. But, that doesn't mean the person is gay. They just have a different sexual identificaton and often have a sex change - not because of wanting to have sex with their same sex, but because they identify themselves as the other sex.
I think physical attraction is developed. Someone who is bi-sexual is physically attracted to both sexes.

I agree with you, I too believe that you inherently are predisposed at birth to a sexual identity- bisexuals are just what the word states- they are unsure of what they want- they like girls and guys, but just like you and I when we go to the candy store, some like milk chocolate, some like dark chocolate and at times we indulge in both kinds, but eventually, WE DO CHOOSE ONE WE LIKE MOST- the same with bi's they are just unsure and have to deal with the indentity crisis until they make their minds up on which they prefer. Are they born that way? Absolutely, just like I can write with both my hands- I play sports with my left- the left is my dominant hand- I was born that way, but going to sister school, they MADE me write with my right hand (sign of the devil if you right with your left hand, that was what I was taught), so I write with my right hand -lousy penmanship by the way. I hope you get my analogy- bi's may have been predisposed to have one sexual identity but got "confused" through childhood due to peer pressure, parent pressure, social pressures..........

To help you understand better, most people fall not on the ends of the spectrum at completely gay or completely straight, but somewhere in the middle. That's what bisexuality is. It's somewhere in the middle, so the person has feelings for both males and females.
