Why haven't my tree onions sent up a spike of little onions?

My tree onions foliage has died/dying back but there is no sign of the above ground onions

Perhaps the onions were not so happy. If the conditions are not good many onions will not flower, or take several years to do so.

If the bulbs are still good they will be back in the spring or you could dig them up and replant them in better soil in the spring.

Maybe you don't water them to much or give it sunlight.
