Try hanging it in the bathroom the next time you take a hot shower the steam will help and then use the sprays if you wish.

I have found air drying and Febreeze to be your best bet, also after you have done this take it and hang it over a heat vent in your house, where it will just get warm enough to make the coat warm..put it into a trash bag with a few dryer sheets in it..and it tends to bget the rest of the smell out.
Once you take and hang the coat on a hanger and use the trash bag as a garmet bag..hang it over the heat vent, with the dryer sheet inside..let it hang through a couple of heat cycles..these two steps should get rid of all the smell

Spray the coat with Freebreeze fabric refresher and hang in the open (not in a closet) for a couple of days. It might need a second coat. This worked on a loveseat that was stored in a basement and smelled moldy. I had to spray it two separate times, but now it smells fresh and is still like new. Good luck.

Quit hanging around Bar Rooms. Shame on you...Seriously, Hang it outside for a couple days. That damned smoke gets into fabrics and it is hard to get out..If you have a friend with an electronic air cleaner, put the elec. air cleaner and the coat in the same room for a day..I know that works..You could take up smoking that way you wont know the difference..lol Good luck...Come to think of it, where do you live.??? In Mass. you can't smoke any place..The cigarette police will pounce on the perpetrator.

I hang my coats outside for quite a while. Then when they come in if it's still a little faint smelling, I use febreeze. works everytime. You might even want to hang a dryer sheet over the hanger with the coat. This has helped too.

leather-based is organic and organic..do not conceal it in any plastic or the like..first carry it exterior (not interior the sunlight) to air out..could could try this for countless days, then while the scent has dimished..take a gentle fabric and cream hair conditioner and gently rub it into the best..you would be shocked on the smoke "dirt" that comes off the garment. keep this up until the fabric is clean. If scent nonetheless persists, repeat the approach.

Large garbage bag sprinkle some baking soda in it.
Tbsp or so.
Add your wool coat in to the bag, shake it around. Let it set for half an hour. or more.
AIR DRY IN YOUR DRYER 15MIN. This will get the granulate out of your coat.
Good Luck

hang it outside for a few hours, then you can throw in the dryer for about 10 minutes with a couple of dryer sheets(don't worry, it will be fine). IMO febreeze doesn't work as well, and dry cleaning doesn't do a damn thing so don't waste the money.
