What does shared custody mean?

So if a mom in a marriage has custody. Does the Father ever see his kids?

shared custody or joint custody, is supposed to mean both parents spend time with the child. though sometimes one parent has the child for a longer period of time. for example kids stay with mom during the school year and have weekends and holidays with dad then summer break with dad or something like that to accommodate for school. Every custody case is set up specifically to fit the needs of the kids and sometimes just the difficulty of parents living far apart etc. so each case is some what different.

It means you have the kids some of the time & the other parent has them other times.. also know as joint custody... The court order and or agreement approved by the court will define the split in time.. One parent generally has primary physical custody generally.. meaning they have them most of the time.. and the other parent may have a few week end visits per month as an example.. or summers if there is a large distance involved ect.. it will vary from case to case..

shared custody is basically joint custody which means that both parents have custody of the child and they child stays with one parent for a determined amount of time and visa versa.

It means that both of you have equal custody. The child is with both of you the same amount of time.
