there is no age requirements, Cingular in my opininion has the best deal. There are several plans but the one I got for my daughter costs $1.00 per day, it's .10 per minute for calls but free to any cingular wireless phone. Lots of folks have cingular so you should a nice group in your "circle"

The phones are sold online at www.cingular.com or at Walmart's...targets...etc. Walmart had one for $20.00 that included $10.00 in starter minutes. It was a small Black Motorola phone.

The poster above me beat me to the punch. She has it all correct. Personal experience and opinion is go to Wally World and by a Cingular cell phone. It is great. However just be aware that it would be advisable to not use text messaging on the phone, it just eats up the minutes and frankly not worth it.
