Can you recieve a text message if your prepaid phone does not have any minutes?

Generally No.

However if you have a plan w/ your prepaid that allows so many text messages for that fixed amount you can, but most people don't do that as it seems rather cost prohibitive.

yes u should get unlimited text messaging w/ your plan.its like $10 extra with boost mobile
