WHY not help us?

I respect the fact that you actors and actress's like to help out other country's. Please answer me this why can't you look in your own country and see our children that are suffering. The reservations have alot of children that need your help. The children that have been displaced by mother nature (not President Bush).
If it weren't for the United States Americans that support you through being fans you won't have the ability to contribute to other countries.

I'm not an actor or actress -- probably no one reading this is.

They do devote a lot of time, money, and energy to helping people in their own countries, including children.

A lot of prominent people in that field are involved in a lot of causes, and donate to a lot of different things.

However, the people of the US tend to be insular, as though American lives were the only lives that truly matter.

There's nothing wrong with people considering their first loyalty being the human race, rather than their particular country. By bringing suffering of non-Americans to Americans attention, they're doing a service.

Furthermore, the degree of suffering in many other countries is higher than that found in the richest country in the world (which isn't to say that it isn't much worse for too many here than it should be).

Finally, a lot of that suffering elsewhere in the world is due to the heartless and misguided policies of the US over the years. Many people feel a special obligation to undo some of the damage their tax money was spent (against their will) in causing.

Unfortunately most actors get involved in these activities for the light it reflects on them.
For example what would have a biger impact to the media: helping a homeless person or helping a poor child that has a family ?
The same here,they help people from poor countrys (countrys that everyone around the globe knows that they're poor) because if they would help they're own people (I consider you mean US) they wouldn't rise too much.
If these persons would realy like to change some lives and do something good they would do it annonymusly because if you realy whant to help someone and feel so you don't care what others think.

Its not fashionable to care for the children of America, but it is apparently fashionable to take care of all the other babies of the world.

Your, right i mean what is there to do with all that money any why, and every little thing hapens isn't President Bush's fault.
