First of all, does it matter that Mother's day was created before the feminist movement? No. I don't think so. Second, they aren't sexist institutions, they're just seperate days created to honor each parent individually.
You're reading too much into the whole seperate day thing. It's pretty simple.

There is a Parent's Day it is on the Fourth Sunday of July.
This was established in 1994 when President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution into law (36 U.S.C. § 135) for "recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in the rearing of children."

Mother's Day is no more sexist than Father's Day.
No, would not rather see them combined.
A national parent's day would be okay, too.
No, I don't prefer sexist institutions. Prefer equality.

What if someone has just a mother or just a father? Then "Parents' Day" won't work.

I'd prefer if they would both be dismissed, as they are only commercial holidays. Also, parents should be remembered and honored every day of the year, not just one day of the year.

Sexism will always exist. We may become "color-blind" to race, equal in religion or wealth, but you cannot change natural sexual desires. I prefer mother's day.

I like it how it is. The mother gets her special day and the father gets his special day.

well if we did that .. then we could do just one present for the both of them....and each one would not longer have a special day to call their own.. but on the positive side we would save money.. on not having to buy two present.. thinking alone those lines i can see where it may be beneficial
