Since USA Hockey stipulates that there shall be no hitting in girls hockey that takes out a major piece of the game off the bat. However there are many things you can do to become an aggressive player. 1st and foremost (speed) speed kills , squats , running , anything to build leg strength would be prime. ( this makes you a more aggressive forechecker against the opposition. Watch some videos of Cammi Granato or Angela Ruggiero playing for the U.S olympic team. watch the speed that they pour on the opposition, since they do not hit against the boards they learn other strategies such as taking their momentum and bringing it up under the opposing players stick and tying them up . They transfer their aggression into smart defensive plays. Or holding the other players up against the boards, there is nothing that says you cannot hold them as long as you do not impede the players progress. Try to build on the basics of speed and skating and then that controlled aggression will start to blossom in your play.

Hockey players are the most aggressive of the four major sports by far. Why? Because the game is played at such a high pace. They don't take a minute break every 20 seconds like in football. They have to be aggressive. Being that the game is so fast paced with little interruption compared to other sports, your adrenaline is always high. People think Football players are tougher than Hockey players based solely on their size, which is ridiculous. Think about it. There's hitting in Football and there's hitting in Hockey. The difference? Try hitting on ice skates at high speed and landing on solid ICE, not grass. Now, imagine it's one of your smaller players who got hit by one of the other teams' larger players. This is where fighting comes in. In Hockey, you stick up for your teammates. There's is a camaraderie in Hockey that you don't see much in other sports any more.

Some good advice from everyone here. Aggressive doesn't mean being brutal or dirty, just increase in intensity. Work hard, you'll feel good, and your teammates will feel good about you.
Work on your basic skills, skating, stick-handling, passing, if you are able to, do a summer power-skating, it's 3-4 days, and it'll really help you to have people who know the biz, show you little tips.
If you think your basics need work, then i'd start with that before thinking about being aggressive. You may find once your skill level improves, that certain styles may suit you more.

Just try to react more than think when you have the puck. When you don't have it, think about getting open, playing position, and defending.
Have a nose for the net. When in the other team's zone, try to get open near the net and yell at your teammates for the puck. When a teammate shoots, crash the net to try and get a rebound.
Also, try to skate with your head up at all times. This will take practice and if you have spare time at home, go in the driveway and just stick handle with a street hockey puck keeping your head up. Or just try to work on it in practice. When you have your head up at all times, you'll be able to "see the ice" better and increase your confidence.

You don't need to be aggressive. I knew a player when I was younger who was the smallest kid and not that fast of a skater but had the most goals in the league just from where he stood.
Simply stand at the top corner of the goalies crease. Sure enough you will be able to deflect either your teammates shot or defense making a sloppy clear, catch a rebound, or screen the goalie to help your teammates get the goal.
Or hey pretended that the puck is your cute boyfriend and that other girl just took him from you. (I am sure that will get your blood pumping) ;).

When your in the offensive zone plant yourself right in front of the goalie and try to tip in a shot from the point or get the rebound and in the corners don't give up on battles to get the puck.

The key to being aggressive is working hard. and positioning. for example if the puck is in the corner you do need to first get contact on him ( if it is a checking league) and keep him from getting out. and always keep him in a position he does not want to be in. What ever you do do not let him out of the corner with the puck.
