Not necessarily an age but a circumstance. You have to be able to support yourself. That would probably be around age 21 or 22 if you had to give an age. But I would say after college when you already have a place lined up to stay and money coming in from a job. But make sure the folks are willing to help if you need their help.

Hah. When you can afford it!
I always thought I would be out when I was 18. Then reality slapped me in the face when I was 18. Here I am 20 years old, married and have a newborn daughter - while STILL living in my parents house. I dont think I'll be able to afford to move out for a very long time.

There is no ideal age, I feel like you have to be responsible enough to stand on your own two feet, and this doesnt mean that it is ok to sponge off of your parents till you are 35. When you have a good paying job and a plan for paying your own bills that is when you are ready.

Middle 30's. Really there is no age. I think a parent should let the child stay there as long as they like. I could go home now if I liked. I hope my kids stay for a while.

I don't think that there is an ideal age.... it depends on the person and on the Parents.
Personally I think that you shouldn't live with your parents past 21 though, but that's just my opinion.
