it depends on the rim size. you may need a 75r14 or 75r15. the overall can be from a 205 to a 225. for extra depth of tread you can use something like a 70r or a 65r. the lower number is a deeper tread. unless you have wider tires such a 9 or 10 inche wide tires, already on it, you don't want to buy wider than the rim will take. if you buy wider tires, you have to have the wider rims or they won't fit properly.

I am a Ford fan, but I would guess about a 215x60x16 on a Malibu. Go to Chevy website and check tire sizes on new Malibu. It will be same for yours.

You have no clue how to read the sidewall of a tire? It says right on the tire! Now that is definately lazy. If you are too lazy to read the sidewall of the tire, you can put your make and model in Discount Tire's website and it will give you the tire sizes. discounttire.com

If you check the sticker inside the driver's door jamb, it will list the factory size. All manufacturers put a sticker in the door with this info plus GVWR and other info.
