Go to priceline.com and bid on hotels. I've got Hyatt regency and hotel allegro for $70 a nite. They normally for $130+++.
Hotels in Chicago (in the city) are $100 and way up.

Stardust Motel in Naperville, IL. If you don't want to go THAT cheap, try the Courtyard Marriot... also in Naperville, I believe. It's a short drive to Chicago.

try hotels.com, they have pretty good hotels deals or vacation packages.
