This person had to give up a career due to health problems. Lost a loved one. Is now responsible for their parents and helping alot for grandchildren. Every time help has been sought after it has ended in a total deadend. Told to call someone else or given lame excuses why they can't help. Examples would be disability, v.a. benefits, medical Ins. Co. There is no ins. now can't go to the dr. or get meds that are needed. With so many dependent on them. So much pain and fear causes a total lack of faith.
being left with hopelessness and bitterness

That bites! This person needs to quit being a victim and take charge! Seriously!

I don't mean to sound harsh, but our system is very inpersonal. If this person can't count on personal help at the public level then they need to know that help at the public level requires serious persistence! I know this because of a blind, diabetic friend who has has 3 heart attacks had a hard time getting disability.

Don't pass blame. Just persevere. And don't feel sorry for yourself--at least for too long. I did a little bit of that when my life was in shambles, and that's okay--just as long as you move beyond that in a healthy amount of time.

Tell them to keep applying for the benifits it takes time and persisnats to get them VA espically. They can go to Public-Aid and get help there,or Social Security.
Prayer is the most powerful thing there is,here is one:

Dear God,
I give this day to you.
May my mind stay centered on the things of spirit.
May I not be tempted to stray from love.
As I begin this day,I open to recive You.
Please enter where You already abide.
May my mind and heart be pure and true, and may I not
deviate from the things of goodness.
May I see the love and innocence in all mankind, behind the
masks we all wear and the illusions of this wordly plane.
I surrender to You my doings this day.
I ask only that they serve You and the healing of the world.
May I bring Your love and goodness with me,to give unto
others wherever I go.
Make me the person You would have me be.
Direct my footstep, and show me what You would have me
do.
Make the world a safer, more beautiful place.
Bless all Your creatures.
Heal us all,and use me,dear Lord, that I might know the
Joy of being used by You.
Amen

this person not only needs your time she needs your love and compassion so i would go to some church and sometimes (or if you are a member of a church) they will come over and help clean and i bet you could get some of them to baby sit and their are alot of things a community can do for a person its your job to give her back her faith so show her that there is a light at the end of a tunnel

Life isn't alway going to be this bad. And send them to mental health clinic. Most cities have free or low cost mental health care. If they got an honorable or general discharge they are entitled to mental health care.
