My husband and I married 25 years ago. We were very young and I thought I knew it all. In my mind, my mother-in-law was an idiot, but I did love my father-in-law. Now that "Ma" has been dead for 5 years, and had altzheimers disease for many years prior, I have come to appreciate her and wish I had known her better and had a more meaningful relationship with her. I guess the moral here is, appreciate people while they are here, and try and find the good (and humor!) in them.
