Do you think that the white folk should start a "white entertainment television" channel or WET? There is black entertainment television (BET) why not one for white people? Also a white history month would be deserving I believe. You gotta admit, it's only fair... Let me know your thoughts on this matter...

yes, as well as a white miss america and a white history month. We, as white people, are always accused of being the racist but we don't ask for special treatment because we are white. it only sounds fair to me.

On the contrary, a quick review of the current situation would easily demonstrate that what you are proposing would NOT be fair. White entertainment television channels already exist. They're called ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. For that matter, outside of BET the vast majority of network and cable channels show predominantly "white" programming. Also the purpose of designating Black History Month is because "white"-centered history has always been taught throughout the year. However I do think there should be Asian History Month, Hispanic History Month and Native American History Month.

Now if you are espousing a Ku Klux Klan channel or something like that, then you are as dumb as a big bag of rocks.

There's already W.E.T. That's WHY BET was created. It is also why Black schools and Black History Month had to be created...to counteract racism. Miss America and Miss USA were both very white at some point too. In fact, they still are, but the pageants show more diversity now. Not too long ago, Vanessa Williams was the first Black Miss USA.

Hello? Is it THAT hard to see the world from any perspective other than your own?

Most of the major networks are already "WET". A white history month wouldn't be deserving because everyone already knows about it. Every other race besides white is a "minority". How fair is that? Anything that another race does, such as having their own network is only so that they can have a place when there is nowhere else.

What's with the segregation? Why can't we all just watch TV!!!
And about the white history month - When you look at it, the other 11 months are pretty much Whit History Months.

Maybe the 'ethnics' got fed up of being killed off in the first five minutes of a film or playing the parts of muggers and theives and derogatary roles. Sorry not everyone agrees with your views.

Historically, the anglos have dominated every facet of culture since the dawn of man. I think that while what's "fair" is highly subjective, we're missing out on the big picture. While BET and the like may strive for equal opportunities for writers, directors, producers, and actors of their specific subsect of humanity, in doing so, they fail to bring the various peoples of this curious little globe together. As long as we continue to label and identify people by any kind of ethnic diversity, we fail to bring people together, and that is supposed to be the fundamental function of communication. Catering to a certain part of the population is ultimately self-defeating, if we, as one people, insist that equality is of paramount importance to us.

i am not racist by any means, but this is one of my least favorite things that our community accepts. i think that if we try to have specific things for white people we will be called racist but if any other ethnic group does it, it is considered ethnic.... i think its all race biased, or in other words racist. and about it being only fair, if you expect life to be fair, you will spend a lot of time being disappointed.
