I understand that other countries need help but now is the time to concentrate on our own people. We need to band together to come up with more solutions to poverty in America. We have a growing problem here and it needs to be addressed. If we don't care of our own then how can we effectively help others? I would be more than eager to head up an organization that supports Americans. If we can't help our "own" then how can we even begin to help others?

By helping other countries, it makes us look like we're all that, and just super wonderful. But who in the whole world cares if we help our own? No one. I agree with you though, keep our supplies/money here and help our own, but at the sametime give those people some self-esteem back and let them work for what we give them.

Sometimes when a beggar approaches me, I give him a buck. But anyone can find work in this country. There are all kinds of jobs for all kinds of people. There are also food banks where people can eat for free. If you aren't working, its because you don't want to or its because you are mentally ill.

Between foodstamps, WIC and all the other programs in this country, if a kid is hungry it is the fault of the idiots who had them. I have seen many go in and buy pure crap with their foodstamps, also in a certain minority group, we are constantly catching them trading foodstamps or now that they have that credit card type, food itself for drugs.

Have you heard of WIC? Free protein for the taking. Cheese, milk, eggs and the like. If you don't have money, our government has food for you.

My city has free lunches in the summer for anyone who walks up and takes one. They don't ask for income.

There shouldn't be any. Get a job. Don't be in a gang. Don't have an attitude. Respect others. You won't be hungry
