Ok, here's the deal. My husband and I are trying to plan a vacation for March, but we don't know where to go. We are on a tight budget, maybe $1000. We would like some place warm because we're from Minnesota and as I'm writing this it's 10 below zero! I would like to go horseback riding. He wants something adventurous or near the ocean. We will be driving. We aren't into gambling or drinking. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

One of the best vacations I ever had was driving through Texas. Go to San Antonio and see the Alamo, then head west to Big Bend National Park along the Rio Grande. You'll pass by Langtry, TX and can see Judge Roy Bean's Courtroom and Bar. An excursion into a Mexican border town would be easy to work into the trip.

Check out the Smokey Mountains (it was the best vacation we ever had and we're from Michigan, another very cold state!)

Check travelzoo.com, or priceline.com. Both offer great vacation deals.

And I sympathize, I am in Detroit and it is freezing.
