Everyone has a biological mother & father. So technically yes. Some kids are orpaned because their parents die, others unfortunately are orphaned because their parent(s) give them away or abandon them. In most cases this may be for the best because if the parent is not capable or mature enough to love & care for the child, then they are better off without them.

Orphans are called orphans because their parents have abandoned them or died. But they do have parents if they are adopted.

Don't ask. An Orphan means that they've lost their parents.

Yea i agree with Leah B but orphans don't necessarily have parents that are able to take care of them.

They have a mother and father but parents are the people who raise the child. So I guess no until they are adopted.

Biological parents......yes, but it takes more than having a child to be a parent.

Sometimes parents give up their children for adoption, sometimes the parents die and the children are taken to an orphanage.
