An intelligent reason as to why homosexuality is wrong?

Leaving the Bible and religion out of it (I say this because so many people have misinterpreted the Bible), can someone give me an intelligent reason as to why homosexuality is wrong? Don't tell me that it is unnatural, because science has found several species of animals that exhibit homosexuality.

Homosexuality has led to many diseases. Aids, etc., are homosexual diseases. I can provide you with the the proof, which the Homos keep deleting from Yahoo! Answers. I do not perceive homosexuality itself as wrong. They need to use very careful measures before they can consider it OK. But they lie and deny that it is a Homo disease. This tells me that I can trust them not at all with regard to other matters.

Furthermore, gays have learned to develop the attitude that they can get anything they want by ramming it down the throats of everyone else in society. Every group has its weaknesses, but anytime one were to try to criticize gays in any way, one would immediately be met with a barrage of epithets, such as, "homophobe," "bigot," "hater," etc. People like these gays need to learn that as long as they behave this way, they will get absolutely nothing that they want.

They are even trying to ram increased taxes, raised insurance premiums, etc. through the proposed institution they affectionately call "gay marriage." They expect the rest of America to obey them; rather than discuss matters logically, they delete most of my posts after merely attacking my motivations. If we do not keep gays at bay, then we can expect other political groups to follow suit.

Below are some examples of data on AIDS. Some of it is in tabular form and some is in pie chart form. Although Gays are only about 10% of the population, they comprise by far the majority of male AIDS cases. The females who get AIDS, get it primarily from bisexuals because the bisexuals, of course, had to get it somehow, i.e., from men. So homosexuals and bisexuals get and give by far the most AIDS--and their rate is truly staggering.

I really appreciate this question, and find some of these answers fascinating, as well as frankly disturbing. I don't think there is anything wrong with homosexuality, and feel that a lot of the problems around it happen to be caused by, as you've mentioned, misinterpretations of the bible. Its interesting to view some of the... less open (Sorry, I couldn't think of another way to put it) opinions on the matter. So kudos to you on a good, meaningful question. Theres nothing wrong with it at all in my opinion, and no intelligent reason to say that it's wrong.

Intelligent reason? I don't think there is any. Yes, love is love. People have their own reasons to not accept homosexuality...everyone has their own opinion. As far as that male + female = children thing, it's still possible...called adoption. I'm no homosexual, nor a Christian, but there is no reason why it's wrong, everyone simply has their own opinions, but shouldn't be so judgmental.

Actually no . Because Man's ( / Animal's ) sexuality knows no boundaries ... it goes / chases after anything desirably , either it be male or female .

E.g. :

Homosexuality is only wrong because some people feel that you should be a certain way. Of course that doesn't mean that it's wrong, it's a matter of opinion. I think there's a standard for men and women in this world..Men have to be this emotionless macho guy and when it comes to homosexuality some people will think you're weak because your homosexual and they are wrong in that thinking. Women are suppose to be nice and weak, usually if a woman exhibits dominance's she gets accused of being a lesbian.

Why diminish yourself to the level of a animal void of just plain ole' good common sense? No offense, but here is some real point blank answers to your question:

You are MALE-Regardless of "animals" being sexual with each other, there is probably more to it, confusion of body scents and being in heat. Since you liken yourself to an animal, as so would we call child molesters, murders, etc etc then if this is what you are please continue. A MAN does not sleep with another MAN. There is NO PLEASURE, except that which is made by human means, there is NO RECEPTACLE made for male entry on a male (Please spare me " I can have an orgasm anally, I seen how its done and its all self-initiated...very sick) Common sense says that you are a MALE, and there is nothing more than major misunderstnading as to what you are. Without GOD there is more than likely no turn around point. Science is science and humans are human. We dont spin cocoons, we dont eat raw meat, we have INTELLIEGENCE. We use FIRE to cook food, we take BATHS. We got a BRAIN.
Sorry but I dont hate ONE gay person, but I will bash with all my might any logic used to substanciate ANY claims that is it LOVE, or its a legitimate form of natural affection . It is very LEWD and contrary to HUMAN NATURE.

Im a straight guy who doesn't believe it is wrong . The acceptance or not closely follows the need for popuation growth or not. When there is a greater need for population increase ie during war, invasion or cultural competion homosexuality is more of a "sin". This goes back thousands of years. (In my opinion it became more of a sin when Catholicism needed increased population to inflict the crusades)

The bible is out-dated, It could have been altered this past thousands of years by stupid gay haters chritiatins.

I'm not quite sure why you would automatically exclude any source or reason (unless you have a premeditated bias against it) that one would present.

If the Bible and/or religion does have an answer to your question, you will not find it based upon the constrictions you've already placed on the input you're willing to receive.

I would think that any person truly looking for an answer would be open to any source that is found to be reliable. (Of course, you could argue that the Bible is just a bunch of fairy tales, but that statement itself is also either true or false - let us not succumb to the ideology that truth is relative, for then questions are inherently meaningless as well.)

If a glut of people use reasoning from the Bible, perhaps you should read it and remove your premeditated biases against it before you do so.

I'm not saying you'll find your answer in the Bible, just that as a historical document of antiquity, it has been too broadly used throughout history to be completely dismissed without investigation.

It appears though that you're basing your evidence for homosexuality on a "Hasty Generalization" fallacy: "This fallacy is committed when a person draws a conclusion about a population based on a sample that is not large enough." (ref: the species statement in your question) A few species of animals are not large enough to generalize the rule.

Though, not stating my belief on this matter, I would think that the burden of proof of the normalcy of homosexuality would lie on the side of the homosexuals, not the heterosexuals since the vast majority of people (now and throughout time) have been heterosexual. It would appear that the homosexual population (though less becoming so) is still on the deviant (in the clincal terminology sense) end of the range on statistics.

Through this analysis, it does not look like you are really looking for an answer, but rather are trying to rationalize the choice you've made by excluding any arguments to the contrary - and are also posting it in a forum where you are likely to find much support for your choice.

It is your choice to do what you want, but I would strongly encourage you to not rule out a source of information just because you are biased against it. It may be (or may not be) the very thing that brings light to the subject for you.

P.S. - It is interesting to note that every post that is either pro-religious (or even hints to that effect) has many thumbs down votes. As Yahoo automatically filters out those that are -5 and lower, it seems like a very good form of thought control by those who want to suppress a point of view. So much for tolerance...

there is no "intelligent" or rational reason as to why it's wrong. those that say it is always resort to lies, assumptions and generalizing stereotypes. the "alleged" Christians use religion to justify passing judgment on others and preaching hatred and intolerance. you notice, every answer in the negative resorted to misinterpreted religion, or the usual crap about it being gross or lies like we all have/spread AIDS (when we know the facts show most who have it/spread it are heterosexuals). they just can't do it without resorting to the same old, stale b.s.
