My daughters father was recently married. His wife has a bad habit of giving out card and signing his,hers and their baby name. She never puts my daughters name down. She has already done this 2x. This card that she gave was to his sister-in-law and it was read out loud to the guest. I was so mad and hurt when I turned and looked at my daughters face. Even more when I saw some of the other guest looking at me. Do stepmothers forget cause the other child does not live in their home. Or are they just so insucure and threathen that the childs mother is still close with his family. For all you grown step moms who do this stop being haters and be the adult, cause to me it makes you look like an ***.

Hmmm... not sure what to say about that. I am a stepmom -- my husband has two kids, I don't have any so it's a little different I suppose. Yea, when I sign cards I do not include the kids' names. Quite honestly, it is NOT meant to be mean or rude. I just don't think of it. And it's not that I hate my stepkids. I guess it's just that I only see them when it's convenient for their mother (two or three times a month), and this is my first marriage. I don't think of us all as a family. Maybe I should. Seriously... I will consider putting their names on future cards/gifts to family.
Your kids' stepmom may just be an a** though. I dunno. Sorry.
