I've been on the pill since november, i know they tell you to take the pill at the same time everyday. But how important is that? i normally take the pill between 7:30 and 9:30am. Will that affect it at all?

Two hours would be fine. Just be careful the gap doesn't widen. The best way to remember is to pair it with something, like taking it as soon as you wake up and keep the pills and water at your bedside. If it's just the difference of what time you wake up during the week versus the weekend, you're good to go.

Yes you need to take it with only a one hour leway either direction. Say you usually take your pill at 7 AM then the earliest you should take it would be 6 but the lastest would be 8 AM. You are taking your a bit too eratically. Find a time that will work better for you even if it means taking it before bed so that it is closer to the same time each day.

No, The reason you are told to take it at the same time each day is to get you into the habit of taking it at a regular interval without forgetting. It is also important that you dont leave it for too long as the hormone levels in the blood tend to be lowered and put you at risk if intercourse was recent. Sperm is alive for about 72 hrs so there is a chance you could fall pregnant even though you are on the pill.

i've got been on the pill for 5 years and have had no enormous themes in any respect. there are a number of categories of pills that use distinctive hormones, some are progesterone based and others are estrogen based. The section-outcomes will variety and you only might desire to be sure that's the marvelous for you. each female will react in a distinctive thank you to distinctive pills. I take a progesterone one and have had no themes different than the occasional cramping, yet its uncommon and treatable. to not point out you be attentive to what week you initiate, lessening the embarrassment of staining. in case you're sexually energetic and don't opt to possibility getting pregnant then I exceedingly recommend you get on the pill. I have been given pregnant from only doing condoms. Pull-out and rhythm technique do not artwork the two. i could recommend you talk with a female medical expert or nurse practitioner. they may be able to furnish you lots extra sensible advice and perception than a male. solid success and inspect it.

A two hour window is fine. No worries. Someone above said ( believe it was mglabel, or something) that you could have an hour leway either way, well if you are taking it between 730 and 930, thats the same thing! DUH! Big yellow bus!!!

Dont listen to the dumb@sses. I was on the pill for 6-7 years and took mine between 8-10pm the whole time, I have never been preggers, nor have I been affraid I was.

i dont take mine the same exact time every day and ive been on it for about 7 years. never got pregnant yet and i only take it around the same time every day pretty much like you but thats just me. if you want to be super safe i would recommend taking the necessary steps that they ask you to take so that you can be safe. also please remember that the pill doesnt protect against STDs and that if you are on antibiotics that can make the pill less effective so always use a secondary type of birth control.

They say exact time, because they know people won't listen, heh. If it's within a couple hours it won't effect things TOO much, though it still is optimal to take them at exactly the same time. If you wait too much longer in either direction you may have spotting, and the pill will lose its effectiveness.

To really answer, if you swing an hour in one direction or the other occasionally, it won't be a big deal, but try your best not to, as it definately is better to be punctual.

My doctor told me no it's fine. He even said some women just take it whenever they wake up..might be 8 am or 12pm. But I think a 10-12 hour gap would be risky. But me, I ALWAYS take it at the exact same time! Paranoid! lol. Like when the time change came I was thinking do I take it an hour early now? Dr. said no

that's actually pretty reasonable amount of time - the reason they tell you to take it the same time everyday is to keep from there being a lesening amount in your bloodstream, since it's a time released 24 hour dose. Be more concerned if you take it 12 hours late or forget to take it at all.

Otherwise, you should be fine.

the pill should be taken the same time every day. otherwise your risks become higher in getting pregnant. not sure why but that is what my doctor had told me.
