Check with your doctor and make sure you aren't pregnant before starting birth control pills. If you suspect you are pregnant, you should stop immediately and don't have sex until you see a doctor and verify whether you are pregnant or not. The hormones can effect the baby, not saying that it WILL, just that it can.

When I first read the subject, I thought, "Ummm.... that's the idea...." LOL
First, any HORMONE-based birth control CAN have a detrimental (negative) affect on the embryo/fetus, YES. It's best to discontinue birth-control (and sex, if you DON'T want to get pregnant) until you've determined whether you're pregnant or not.
Second, the hormones won't affect you, but a miscarriage certainly might. Please get a pregnancy test (or six... I bought them at the Dollar Tree and they were VERY accurate and sensitive, though not *quite* as sensitive as First Response)...
Best of luck!

Birth control does not affect the results of a pregnancy test because it represses hormones relating to ovulation, not FCC which is the hormone the test is looking for. She should test ASAP as the pill can sometimes have a negative affect on the growth of a fetus.

Birth control could cause you to miscarry. If you don't miscarry, serious health problems may occur to the parent and child.
