Give it time. They will branch out. Everyone in the university can't all be high school chums. Join some study groups or extracurricular activities that interest you. You'll make friends in no time. Keep your focus though. Good luck.

It may be hard to hear this - but give it some time. Join some clubs and meet people you can connect with based on similar interests. If you're a writer or photographer - join the staff of the school newspaper, radio station or tv station. Surely not everyone at your new university came from the same highschool.

A lot of people in college hang out with their friends from high school. Nothing anyone can do about that. My advice to you is this. Don't let your grades go down the toilet just to get in a sorority, and find a club or society on campus you're interested in. The following are just some random suggestions. Theater, medieval society, improvisation, anything you can find that you may want to be part of. College isn't just about getting a stamped piece of paper, but it's not just about partying, either. You've got to balance it out.

Screw them!!! Listen! You'll meet new friends, before you leave there everyone will have new friends. So often your friends will even change depending on the classes you have with people. At first people always want to stay friends with their old friends but soon enough they'll all lose contact. Trust me, you make friends. Just be your self. One quetion though. Why do you think you didn't have friends in high school? I mean, I didn't always have best friends in high school, but then I grew up and realized it was because I was trying to be something I'm not. I wasn't being me.

WOW...that's funny 'cause I'm going through the exact same thing right now! The only difference is that I'm really far from home (7 hours)! Last semester I let it get me down and it took a real toll on my grades! But now I'm determined not to let it bum me out, so I try to have as much fun as I can by myself! I read, watch TV, listen to music, go to the gym, go shopping, and pamper myself as much as I can! Give it a try; do things you enjoy and make you feel good about yourself and you'll see things starting to change for the better :)
Good luck :)

It somewhat relies upon. I went to a small college, and my graduating type in basic terms had 33 pupils. maximum individuals are pals on facebook now and that i be attentive to particularly a number of them have definitely saved in touch and spent time. I even have pals from the college that I communicate with and facebook with. that's as much as you approaches long you opt to maintain your individuals. understand that folk will exchange by the years and because you have been pals throughout extreme college does not inevitably recommend you would be pals constantly.

You may want to post a sign and say out of area student looking to hook up with other out of area students. I am sure it is hard, but in the mean time study hard because it is harder to study with friends hanging over your shoulder. Good Luck...............
