In Spanish, the question is badly formulated. I guess it was meant What value must the constant k take so that the division of 4x^2 +3k by 2x + 1 be exact? The remainder is the value of 4x^2 +3k for x = -1/2, that is, 1 + 3k. Therefore, the division is exact if and only if 1 + 3k = 0, that is k = -1/3. The quotient is 2x - 1.
