I'm not one to typically gain weight. I stayed about the same weight for 4 years and now, in the past month, I've gained 9 pounds. My breasts are slightly larger than normal and I have a small pot belly in my abdomen. I've been taking my birth control and I had a period last month but with all that has happened I'm beginning to think that I could be pregnant. I don't know if you will still have a period taking birth control so does anyone know if I could be pregnant?

If you think you may be pregnant, you should stop taking birth control pills, make an appointment with your doctor and go forward from there.

First, DO NOT take birth control pills if you're pregnant. The hormones can damage the fetus! Please refrain from taking any futher pills until you've determined whether you're pregnant or not.

Second, take a test as soon as possible. First Response will give you a stronger positive if you ARE pregnant, but I got a faint positive on a Dollar Store pregnancy test two days before I was due to start AF. Those tests work VERY well for the price (yep... a buck! :)).

Finally, I began having "bloating" and swollen breasts AT LEAST a week before I took the pregnancy test (and easily a week before my period was due). I was not on the pill, but I had had a period the previous month and was only technically pregnant by about 11 days. Yes, you could be pregnant. PLEASE take a test before taking any more pills!

Good luck!

I read somewhere that women on the pill can sometimes still have periods even after they are pregnant. Its your body trying to stay on its normal cycle..but you will have a period thats very light or short or something its not going to be like a normal period. Also if you think your pregnant stop taking that pill..even if you just think you might be..you dont want to do damage to the baby. Take a HPT and go see your Dr.

My mom didn't find out she was pregnant until she was halfway through her pregnancy. A friend I went to high school with didn't find out until she was in a car accident and had to go to the hospital. She had still had her period and she was pretty far along. A lady I know now had a little baby girl. She was having stomach pains and kept going to the doctor and they didn't know what was wrong with her. They never gave her a pregnancy test...why I don't know. Anyway she found out she was pregnant when she was like 8 months. You can still have your period while you are pregnant. I would run out to the store and grab a test.
