I tried and couldn't. I threw him out of my car and told him don't ever speak to me again

This guy supports Bush - what else could I do?

I was patient long enough - good riddance!

Lately I find I cannot be make new friends if they tell me they are Republican or they support Bush too. The minute I hear it I stop the conversation and split, because if I stay I know I'll have to hurt them.

I've dated conservatives and I've found that I just don't get along with them on many many things, not just politics. Many of them are too too freakishly religious to the point of being scarry zealots. It's better to date either middle of the road people or people who agree with your values, views and your dedication to equality and fairness.

it depends how radical their beliefs were...just because someone supported Bush or supported Kerry or Clinton or Obama doesn't mean I couldn't date them or be friends with them. That's the problem we have in this country right now, is that when other people refuse to talk or be friends with people who don't share their political ideals. However, if someone was to the extreme, such as a racist or an anti-semite, I would have no problem with showing them the door

Okay, I don't support Bush, but what's with hating everyone who does? It's just a political opinion. You shouldn't just have "anti-bush" liberal friends, have it mixed! Their beliefs will otherwise influence you into things you probably wouldn't agree with.

Therefore... don't be so harsh. And sure, I'd date someone who's "ok" with Bush; as long as they don't idolize him.

Since I am a Christian Conservative, I date a female who has strong Christian Values. I am not concerned about if they vote Democrat or Republican but as a Christian Conservative, I believe that the United States of America should be based off what the Holy Bible says. I beleive that I more likely to find a Conservative or Christian Conservative because I believe that what the Bible says goes against what Liberals believe.

well my wife and I have a number of political views that differ. I would have to say the differences make our relationship stronger. The thing that is important is that we respect each others point of view, is that not what being open minded is all about. Shame on any one who thinks they are right and everyone else is wrong.

I am married to someone, and have been for many years, who does not share my political beliefs and I don't share his. I married the man for his character and because I love him. When people are truly in love they have deep respect for one another. We don't discuss politics but we respect the fact that we are both entitled to our own opinions. When we go to parties we mingle with poltically like minded people. :)

You are throwing the baby out with the bath water. Just because these people don't know that they are operating under a misconception does not mean that they should have their throats cut.

then you are entirely closed minded, if you can't listen to both side and debate it in a manner where violence isn't an issue there is so meting wrong with you. i think that you should be able to talk to anyone, regardless of political affiliation.
