I saw the Grudge 1&2, and was terrified, by the commercials of the messengers, it doesn't seem as scary... am i right?

The special effects are a lot like the Grudge 1. I didn't see the Grudge 2 so can't say.
It wasn't gory but it was scarey the same way the Grudge was, where you see something out of the corner of your eye and aren't sure what you saw or you see a human-like "thing" that isn't quite right and it's unsettling.
It starts with a fairly scarey start, I was on the edge of my seat! Then it's a little slow but when the creepy stuff starts then it definitely got my attention.

Anything is scarier than the Grudge, cuz the grudge sucked!! I don't get whats so scary about a boy meowing and big black spot

Yeah the grudge is ment to be sooooo scary, my brother saw it and he was scared, and he always watches scary films and doesnt seem to care about them ussualy, so this one must have been bad.
my advise it NOT to watch it, its ment to be based on a true story too.
