I keep hearing how we never should have gone into Iraq, Hillary actually voted "no" on the war before she voted "yes" - or something like that. Anyway, without trashing Bush what is your strategy? After we cut and run in Iraq and Iran becomes a super-state what is the plan? I think you guys owe us that much. Remember WITHOUT mentioning Bush. The Republicans and this administration have laid out there ideas, now let's hear yours.

16 minutes and not a single, do-able idea. Just a lot of pie in the sky kind of stuff. Nothing!

Exactly what is the strategy that this administration has laid out for a long term middle east strategy? The only thing I've seen is Bush's minor bump in troops which even the majority in his own administration admit is likely to fail. What does he do after this fails? The consensus is a pull-out (a shall we say CUT-AND-RUN -- by the way, I don't think you got the latest talking points from Rush, the term CUT-AND-RUN is no longer to be used).

It must be hard to admit that Democrats like Joe Biden and Jack Murtha were right all along in what they were saying -- they both have close ties to the military and in my opinion are much more in touch with what is actually going on over there than Bush is. By the way, they actually do have long term plans and have had them for quite a long time -- it is just that nobody was listening and the Republican Congress failed terribly in its oversight capacity of the Bush administration.

The question cannot be answered without the mention of Bush, its like trying to understand the last 50 pages of a novel before reading the first 250. Every plan to leave has been changed and we remain there still, the "war" has been for years but you wouldn't know from the amount of people dying each day, things continue to get worse, and i just want them to get better, there is likely no way to get out without Iran taking control of Iraq at this point, and the solution of the conservatives is what? To make Iraq a US city state? Somehow it almost seems like that was the plan all along. The Soviets did something very similar with East Germany for many years, and we did nothing but ridicule them for it. However we are surprised that we cannot get other country's support for what we are doing? My long term middle east strategy was destroyed from the beginning back when my short term middle east strategy was do not make it into another Viet Nam type situation and interfere when we aren't wanted, just for some bull reason...still looking for those weapons of mass destruction.

I'm probably not the right one to answer this question because I used to be a conservative (back when conservative meant controlling goverment spending and keeping liberals from passing laws that infringe upon my freedom). I guess I'm more of a moderate now which is actually good for me since those of you on either extreme more or less cancel each other out and my vote determines who our next leader will be.

That being said this question is intellectually dishonest. If you're building a fence with your neighbor and he repeatedly hits your thumb with a hammer you don't need to justify to him that you can do a better job of driving a nail before putting an immediate stop to the action that is causing you pain. When your thumbnail has turned black and fallen off you are entitled to put all options back on the table (which may include walking away from the project with only half of the fence constructed).

Here's the thing. You had the Whitehouse, Senate and House. Hell, in the beginning, I helped give that to you. You had even started appointing likeminded judges to the Supreme Court. While exercising your stranglehold you sold a bad idea to America under false pretenses and then proceeded to mismanged the bejeezes out of it. I don't blame W. I blame all of you on the right for going blindly forward with the blood of the poor and middle class while the children of the wealthy remained safely in the States spending their daddy's tax break. I blame the spineless enablers on the left (Hillary included) who failed to challenge you when it counted.

Nevertheless, I don't think they owe you any kind of strategy to fix your mess. You got yourself (and the rest of us) into it. Let's at least be academically fair enough to admit that going home now probably wouldn't make it any worse.

The liberal strategy is as follows:

1) Open up the USA/Mexico border and allow everyone who's already here (illegally) to stay forever.

2) Give full social security benefits and free medical care to everyone who wants them (providing you are not caucasion)

3) Make anything that even looks like a gun illegal because we all know that the criminals will have to turn in their guns if they are illegal and all our crime problems will be magically solved.

4) Let all the murderers and child molestors out of prison because they are basically good people who just made a mistake and if they promise to never never ever do it again we can believe them.

5) Make gay marraige legal everywhere because we all know thats its natural normal behavior and anyone whos against it is a homophobe.

6) Leave Iraq and they will solve all their own problems and will quit blowing up our buildings and killing our people.

REPUBLICAN STRATEGY (CORRECT STRATEGY)
get a few bombs and turn Irag and any other country which supports and hides terrorists into a parking lot. The opposite of the answers given in 1 thru 6.

Proud to be a republican!

I'm sorry, exactly WHAT ideas has the administration laid out? Adding 20K troops is not a plan. I have no problem supporting Bush should he come up with one, I just have not heard it yet.

We are in the middle of a Civil War there, I don't care who does not feel like calling it one yet, that is what it is. If the central government is functioning, it ain't functioning much.

So, without mentioning Bush, what is the Conservative long term middle east stratagy? I am eager to hear it.

you are able to learn from modern-day history what a pullout could recommend. Watch the movie Black Hawk Down and you will see the commencing up of it. We went into Somalia to take out some undesirable adult adult males. Our adult adult males have been given caught and the animals drug ineffective bodies of yankee soliders interior the process the streets and it grew to become into shown on worldwide extensive television. This emboldened the terrorists simply by fact they found out that human beings does not take casualities. After that, they bombed some embassies, attacked the U. S. Cole, and attacked the commerce centers before 9-11. the only thank you to end it is kill the terrorists and take out Iran, Syria, Hesbollah, Hamas, the Palastinian government, North Korea, and an outstanding sort of extra. If we don't end this, Iran, or another united states of america gets a nuke and drop it into considered one of our cities, in the event that they don't use it in Israel. The Democrats have not got any technique, all they do is whinge and pander to the insane communists that administration their social gathering. in the event that they have been somewhat against the conflict, why not vote to defund it? (I provide credit as much as now to an unnamed Rush Limbaugh caller from this week.)

In Iraq, get the lights on. The electricity is only on for 12 hours a day, at best. Put the Iraqis to work & stop micro managing.

Liberal Strategy: Surrender, and let Iran take over Iraq.
Allow Iran to develop hundreds of nuclear weapons and force America into becoming a Third World Power.
Liberals want us to become a Banana Republic so they can Rule.

no liberal in Congress has come forward with any thing more than "get out" or " leave now". They probably don't get all the intelligence that president bush does, so i can't see how they can make an informed decision on this matter with out all the facts.
