While driving through Tennessee, and spending a night in a motel, I left my HP laptop in the car. The temp. dropped to about 15 degrees F.
I had to send the laptop back to HP for repairs. They said they had to replace the mother board.
Good luck
Rich

depends on the laptop and whether it is powered up the whole time it is exposed to the cool temperatures. 0F in non-humid temps wont necessarily hurt a powered down pc.. but it make take a bit of 'warming up' to boot up. If it is running the whole time you might expose on to even cooler temperatures... but other weather conditions and precipitation would be more of a concern than the temp.

I would not go below 40 F degrees
BUT 50 F degrees is the limit I see in my Laptops manual.
So... DO NOT leave it in the car if you think it will get below 45 degrees.

just like a digital camera (not made for cold weather) i would not leave it in your car during the cold winter months. going from the cold to the warmth causes moisture to get inside and can ruin it.
