What does the rest of the world (i.e. outside the US) think about American Football?

Do you like the sport, hate it? Why?

Folks largely think it's 'stupid' because people are largely scared of things they don't understand. Therefore it must be stupid for their 'small minds' to possibly comprehend. I started watching football at age eleven and understood it perfectly. That was 21 years ago. Two decades of being both fan and player (though long 'retired').

As far as the 'World Champions' jibe. I would suggest you look to see how many countries football is played in. Should any of those teams wish to embarass themselves on a global stage in competition with said 'World Champs', I would look forward to seeing the result.

As far as stolen?! stolen from what? who?

All sports are influenced and advanced by elements of other sports. Do you think car companies are thieves as well beause they stole the round steering wheel idea? How about wheels themselves?

Oh, forgot to mention...FYI, i'm English. BEARDOWN BABY!!

Too much stopping and starting, too many players egotistic players wasting energy grunting instead of playing, Too many rules, Too many points! Also too much padding... Have you seen Rugby? Fantastic, fast and Bruising!!
However I've never seen a match, so it's only my ignorant opinion. I'm sure like any sport, I would get into it, but just glad i'm not! I'm sure the fans have a better day out than UK Soccer.

AS many as 200+ countries watch the superbowl. They think it is kind of weird, but like rugby. How do you feel about Lacrosse? Rugby? Curling? That's how they feel about football.
