This just happenned last night. He'd been planning on leaving at a certain time anyway and was caught about 15min before then, so he just left. Since this just happenned last night, what should I do now. What would YOU have done?

If you weren't playing for money, I'd say a FRIENDLY ***-kicking (joking around) would have been a good response, and then laughing, and then go back to the game.
BUT since money is involved ... that's kind of like stealing, huh?
I say no more money games for him. Still be friends and invite him to all other parties, but never another money game.

next time he comes over, i'd pull him to the side privately and clarify to him that he develop into stuck dishonest. This receives rid of him being humiliated in the front of his different acquaintances and that is going to provide him heads up that everybody will be gazing. If he denies it and receives overly protecting only brush it off and flow on. he will definately play straightforward this hand!
