We have so many children in American who need saving, we should start with those and then reach for the rest of the world.

Because America does not want to acknowledge that we have children living in our country that go to bed hungry at night. Children who don't get breakfast and lunch unless they are at school. Children who live in houses with no electricity. America likes to think higher of itself than this. America does not want to be reminded of its poor because how does that look to the rest of the world?

One reason is our system we have to sign paper for this and that. You just can't help a group of people those days. I think that one reason Oprah when to another country to stop the red tape. If not I would if I have money. Because everyone want to get theirs hand on the money and give just a little to the ones that need it.
Wouldn't you like to know if the money getting to the right people not the rich people.

Very good question, I've always wondered that. Back in the 80s, the Christian Children's Fund did have a campaign going to care for kids in the US and Canada, but they seem to have dropped it. I wonder if they dropped caring as well?
I give to local children's organizations, cause every city has their kids that need it.

I think that the reason we focus on people in our backyard rather than our own yards is because it is easier to deal with anothers problems than to focus on our own. It is easier to have other be judged and looked over/after than to face our own demons. Much like whe you are having a bad day it is easier to hear that another person has bigger issues/problems than to deal with your own.
