Not necessarily. I've spent my life doing things to make people happy, and along the way I have sacrificed myself to the point where I don't know how to do anything to make myself happy any more. And making yourself available to be a happy-maker for people just seems to make them think you're gullible and there only for their use. They don't respect you.
And trying to do things to make yourself stand out as unique is otherwise known as attention-seeking, and generally not seen as a good thing. So many people, today's "emo's" for example, think that if they stand out people will like them more, give them more attention, more love, but the problem is that the attention they get is usually negative attention.
For example, I have always been a bit unique. I'm a female electrician who works on cars as a hobby sometimes. Not normal! So many people have commented on my choice of work, as though I've done it just to annoy them, as though I've offended them just by working in a traditionally male job. I stood out and have been shot down for it countless times.
Just be who you are. If that means being lost in mediocrity, then so be it,make the most of it and achieve your goals. Be happy with what you have and who you are, because trying to be somebody you're not will only cause you grief.

no its not always good to want to do things for others. anythings good within moderation. yes you can try to make people happy sometimes but dont do it all the time. otherwise youll be a doormat for the rest of your life..and people will take advantage of you. theyll come to you all the time when they want something, youll never get any peace..sometimes theyll steal your stuff if you let them borrow something. overtime you will feel used and feel like noone cares about your needs anymore which is basically true. your dreams might become destroyed. you have to also let people know what you want..set a limit. wanting things for yourself and knowing what you want is healthy. yes its a good thing to also want to look out for yourself.
about making yourself unique? um i seriously dont get what you mean. everyone is unique so all i can tell you is be yourself..dont try to be something youre not. making yourself out-of-this-world special is most definitely bad because thats being too focused on attention. noone wants to be with a fake or attention-getter. they would rather be with the real you. you would get enough attention being yourself

If you are in service of others such as a public service yes. Satisfaction is key. In the case of law you direct as you do in the medical field and social services and in teaching. Here you do what is best and what conforms to our social standards. In cases of wanting others to be satisfied with what you do for them should be done out of courtesy or love such as friendships and family. It is your intention that makes you unique. I always try to be good to everyone. That is my intention. Great question.

My dear.... people will always be people, you'll never be able to satisfy everyone. So do everything good right from your heart, and if you feel good, that's the best way to go. Experience...
