In Veggie Tales, isn't Bob a fruit?

So why is he in Veggie Tales? Bob is the tomato.

I was wondering about that too. They have a bunch of other non-vegetable characters like Madame Blueberry, the Peach, I've seen mushrooms, now there's a "bad apple", etc. I know there are others, but I haven't watched it in a while. The old ones were better.
