How old are you? If you're under 16, GoW is probably out of the question, but show her the PC demo for Halo; it's not really that violent, barely any blood (and it's all alien blood, too, no red stuff). It isn't and worse than Alien or something like that. Tell her what I just said, and you might have a shot.

She is doing a little known thing called "parenting" with you.

Sure, I can name TONS of things kids your age are doing right now that are worse that playing video games with an "M" rating. However, your mother is NOT obligated to choose which things that she disapproves of to not only allow, but condone you doing. You may think she is wrong. Depending upon your level of maturity, I may think she is wrong. However, she has made a judgment call on a benign item. On the small stuff that does not matter, she is allowed to be wrong 100% of the time.
