My son has a heart defect and he sweats alot when he sleeps so I am constantly changing his bedding even in the middle of the night.I have a fleece blanket and a cotton blanket between the mattress and the sheet for a little more comfort for him but he sweats so bad that it goes right through and soaks the mattress!!Should I remove the fleece and stick with 100% cotton or is there some other kind of fitted sheet or something else I can put down to absorb some of the wetness?

Make sure there are layers of cotton between him and that mattress. The mattress is vinyl and won't breathe... the fleece blanket is also synthetic and won't breathe... ANYTHING that isn't cotton would go, if it was me. Even the sheets are sometimes now in cotton/poly blends. Avoid those, too.
Stick with all cotton and you should see some improvement.
Sounds like you're doing a great job, mom!!

stay with 100% cotton everything and get rid of the fleece it'll make a horse sweat too .Hope this helps and also there is a place in Wilmington N.C. called Alligator Pie they have lots of things for preemies and other problems with babies .They currently have no website yet they will soon but you can call them and see what they have to offer.Have you ever put one of those rubber sheets on the mattress it'll keep him cool and it's also absorb ant.I hope this helps .I will keep you and your baby in my prayers.what I mean by the rubber sheet is material like a pee pee/changing pad they have those that are larger but they don't fit the whole mattress.

Let him sleep in his diaper with only and little bit of material under him. Try just having the waterproof pad and a fitted sheet on. Also, put a thin blanket on top of him nothing too heavy. Good Luck!

i do not understand how maximum persons sense about this, yet i will talk from my personal own journey. My first son slept in my room for the first 6 months, in his personal crib. He now sleeps in his personal room effective, each and every nighttime. the merely time he comes into my room at nighttime is even as he wets the mattress. My second son is 15 months previous, and nevertheless in my room. the merely authentic clarification for that is because we stay in a 2 mattress room and that i don't sense like he's previous adequate to percentage a room jointly with his brother yet. He too has continuously slept in his personal crib. So I actually have had no issues of them in my room of their very personal beds even as it is composed of forming good sound asleep habit for them. the shrink back is you've a lot less privateness for your self and your better 1/2. you do not have an section only for your self anymore. i have self belief it is all own determination.

Just put a waterproof matress pad on, and the sheet. A light sleeper should be fine with just a light or no blanket.

I would use a bath towel under him...its absorbant...some are nice and plush and soft...i would get rid of the polar fleece...that stuff will maake anyone sweat! stick to 100% cotton ...it wont irritate, will be more absorbant...and might cut down on the sweat

i agree with the 100% cotton everything. I would have him sleep in a 100% cotton onesie instead of just a diaper. (to prevent other leaks) I might consider putting a fan in his room just to circulate air. (on low not pointed directly at him.)
