We only use Britax, they come from infant to booster seats.
The Britax Marathon is what we use for our very tall 4-year-old. The Marathon is for children up to 65 pounds and it has a five point harness.
NHTSA indicates kids over 4'9" are big enough for booster seats, any smaller they still need a 5 point harness-type seat.
Britax makes boosters too, but they are for much older children. Since your question is in Newborn and Baby I'm really hoping you aren't going to put a baby in a booster seat.

We have 3 Graco booster seats, and we love them. Make sure you get the ones that also have a back part to the seat, as it has a slot to adjust the shoulder belt in the proper positioning for your child (away from the neck). They usually run around $60, and you can get it at Target or Wal*Mart.

If you're looking for safety with no regard for being inexpensive, I would go with a Britax Marathon, Decathlon or Boulevard. They all go up to 65lbs with a 5 point harness which is great for safety. My baby just grew out of his infant seat and I'm getting a Marathon for him.
