Larry Brown by far. Does so much more w/ less. Look at Jackson's career: First, give it to Michael. That has his stragety for those 6 rings. Almost any half-way decent coach would have won w/ that team. Second, Shaq and Kobe. Nuff said. Now as for Larry Brown: 1,285-853, including ABA. Only coach in history to win NBA & NCAA Championship. 3 Final 4's and 3 conference titles. Brown won by playing team ball and getting he most out of the players he had. Just look at what he did with Detroit. Phil always had the team. I say Larry, unless you only look at the Rings.

Hey how many rings did Doug Collins win with those Jordan teams? And how many did Del Harris/Kurt Rambis win with those Shaq-Kobe teams?
Doesn't make his team better? Hmmm, Kobe going from 15 a game to 22 a game overnight seems quite natural doesn't it?
And Larry Brown's Pistons team went to the Finals without him, even though they lost.
Now, as for the Pat Riley fans, he inherited a championship team, like one that had just won one the year before. He was good for a while, but if Wade didn't have naked photos of David Stern and the entire NBA refereeing crew, he wouldn't've won last year.
And if you're talking about whining about that 1-game suspension, boy, i dont know, seemed very suspicious and questionable, I'll say that much. Even the Spurs didn't want Kobe suspended. Manu Ginobili thought that the hit on Manu Ginobili was unintentional. And Stu Jackson's response to Kobe's appeal attempt seemed suspicious: "well, if he wins his appeal, he can get his money back!" Kobe to Stu: "180000 dollars...hmmm...you want that in coins, check, or through credit?" Stu: "preferably check" Kobe: "so how are you gonna pay me back that game my team lost?" Stu: "Oh, sorry about that, we just wanted New York to look respectable. Besides, if Phoenix gets the 2 and Dallas the 1, you guys want the 6 anyways right?"

Phil Jackson. He has 9 titles (which is tied for the most with Red Aubernach) compared to 1. Larry Brown couldn't help the New York Knicks get any better, but some how Isiah Thomas (i seriously hate Isiah) is doing a better job so far.

PHIL JACKSON IS THE BETTER COACH. PHIL HAS MORE WINS IN LESS YEARS COACHING. PHIL HAS 9 NBA CHAMPIONSHIPS TO LARRY'S 1. PHIL JACKSON SHOULD HAVE COACHED THE LAST U.S. NATIONAL TEAM INSTEAD OF WHEN BROWN COACHED THEM TO OUR WORST FINISH EVER FOR A U.S. MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM. LARRY BROWN JUMPED SHIP IN NEW YORK WHEN THINGS GOT TOUGH. PHIL JACKSON NEVER SOLD HIS TEAM OUT AND ALWAYS TOOK THE BLAME. I WOULD RATHER PLAY FOR PHIL JACKSON, AND IF I WAS AN OWNER, I WOULD HIRE PHIL OVER LARRY ANY DAY, EVEN IF I HAD TO PAY MORE MONEY FOR HIM.

first off there will be the obvious comparison of championships won...Phil gets that one on the strength of the 9 championships with the two teams he coached, then there will be the fact that Phil actually signs with a team and stays there a while...then the idea that Larry creates resentments with those he works with at his various coaching stops...there is also the way he maximized his assets using certain offensive sets (read:triangle offense) to create mismatches and one on one situations with his top offensive players (Mike, Shaq, and Kobe)...I think this comparison is pretty one sided

THEY BOTH SUCK!!! the best coach is PAT RILEY. Even through Phil has more championship rings. PAT has all the coach quality. He expects more than for his team. He also improves his superstar( wade). While phil doesn't help improve kobe, offense wise or defensive. BUT He teaches him to whine about a 1 GAME suspension
